Formerly the Clarence Motor Company, two residents took it upon themselves to rehabilitate a dilapidated historical building with the largest streetfront in Clarence.
Salvaging found and existing building materials (including ribbed steel roofing that blew in from the derecho) honor history and place as well as keep waste to a minimum. Energy savings through on-demand hot water and LED lighting and natural sunlight were chosen.
Enthusiasm for the project came from collaboration across the community to open a new needed space for large gatherings and events with plans to create upper story short term rental housing.
