Bakken Pipeline Resistance Community Meeting

The public is invited to a community meeting to discuss the proposed Bakken Oil pipeline that would cut across 17 Iowa counties, including Boone, Story, and Polk Counties. Community organizations and leaders are hosting a public, free informational meeting to discuss the proposed crude oil pipeline’s impacts upon our local, national, and global communities.

Informational Presentations and Discussion will feature Erwin Klaas, of the Citizens’ Climate Lobby and Dave Swenson, Iowa State University Extension Economist.

Co-­sponsors include 1000 Friends of Iowa; Citizens’ Climate Lobby (Ames); Food & Water Watch; Iowa Citizens for Community Improvement; ISU ActivUs; ISU Sustainable Agriculture Student Association; and the Women, Food & Ag Network.
