The Des Moines Heritage Trust took a former passenger station, Union Depot, from abandoned and dilapidated into a majestic and historic treasure with modern amenities. Adding new indoor and outdoor event spaces with views of the State Capitol has given the area more choices for rentals.

Located in an historic district, the Trust holds an office in this space, and hosts ethnic and other heritage groups, encouraging them to establish a sense of place for meetings and other activities.
