DESCRIPTION:Clarke University presents Fred Kirschenmann\, a longtime national and international leader in sustainable agriculture\, farmer\, and author of Cultivating an Ecological Conscience: Essays from a Farmer Philosopher (2010)\, for a timely and crucial conversation about the future of food in a changing climate. Kirschenman is a Distinguished Fellow for the Leopold Center for Sustainable Agriculture and professor in the Department of Philosophy & Religious studies at Iowa State University and has received international recognition for his writing on land ethics. \nThe lecture is free and will be held in the Jansen Music Hall on the Clarke University Campus in Dubuque.

Bob and Heidi are enthusiastic\, engaging\, and quite knowledgeable. There has been talk about a campfire conversation after the tour.  Dress for the weather\, bring water\, and questions!\n\nLocation:  1525 Old Portland Road in Van Meter at 7 p.m..  Off 169 north of Winterset\, turn east on 148th Street.  It will tee into Old Portland after about 2 miles.  Turn right to 1525.  Parking along the driveway edge.\n\nMobility needs?  Let Nancy (515) 462-1142 know and a four-wheeler will be on site.
