Women Caring for the Land

November 10, 2016 @ 9:00 am - 3:00 pm

Women Caring for the Land incorporates a women-only, peer-to-peer informal discussion alongside an afternoon visit to see and discuss conservation practices in action.

As estimates indicate that women now own or co-own nearly half the farmland in the Midwest, many wonder whether they are doing all they can to improve soil and water quality while maintaining high agricultural productivity. Maintaining healthy soil is the key to productivity and environmental health for our farmland. Women landowners who attend this meeting will learn to assess and improve the health of their soils.

The meeting starts at 9 a.m. with registration beginning at 8:30 a.m, continental breakfast and lunch provided. We will finish up with closing discussion and dessert by 3 p.m. This meeting is sponsored by WFAN and Prairie Rivers of Iowa.
